Botulinum Toxin Injections For Movement Disorders, Spasticity And Migraines

Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are brand names for ona botulinum, inco botulinum and abo botulinum toxin A, respectively. When injected, they cause transient paralysis of striated muscles or sweat glands, and reduce nerve pain signals in a dose dependent manner. The effect lasts on average 3-4 months.

Clinique Neuro-Outaouais offers a variety of neurophysiological tests including: nerve conduction studies, autonomic testing, electromyography, single fibre electromyography and evoked potentials. Evoked potentials include visual and motor modalities.

Evoked Potentials (EP)

Evoked potentials measure the neurophysiological response of a stimulus from certain areas of the central nervous system such as the visual or motor systems. The analysis of these responses allow us to determine the health of the specific neurological system and monitor its function over time.
