The cognitive impairment clinic is CNO’s latest initiative. It was spearheaded to address the acute needs of Gatineau’s aging population.
The cognitive impairment clinic is composed of nurses, neurologists, and a PhD neuroscientist candidate. It has developed an expertise in the assessment and continuous care of Cognitive Impairments. This includes, but is not limited to, Alzheimer, Dementia, and Parkinson.
Alzheimer currently has no cure and affects 1 out of every 5 people over 80. It is therefore a focus of the Cognitive Disorder Clinic. We are committed to being proactive in the search for treatments and are conducting clinical trials, testing potential new therapies.
To access the services of the Cognitive Impairment Clinic, you should ask your referring physician to refer you specifically to Clinique Neuro-Outaouais or the Cognitive Impairment Clinic.
